Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This website follows the privacy
guidelines set by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This Privacy
Statement will give you answers to the following questions:
- What information is collected through this website?
- What organization is collecting the information?
- How is the information used?
- With whom may this information be shared?
- What choices are available to you regarding the collection
of information?
- How can you access and correct any inaccuracies in the information?
- What security procedures are in place to protect the loss,
misuse, or alteration of information?
1. What information is collected through
this website?
This website can collect two types of information:
- Technical information about your computer
- Personal information you choose to share with us
A. Technical information about your computer
This site uses client-side scripts to determine what elements of a page your
computer can display.
If you choose to view the streaming videos on this site, a script
will check for the type of web browser you are using and your connection
speed. You can set the security settings of your web browser to
deny scripts if you prefer not to run this script, though the streaming
videos will not work in that case.
This technical information is destroyed immediately when
you leave the page or close the browser.
In addition to the client-side information gathering, this site
records your IP address, your operating system, your web browser,
and the URL from which
you linked here (if that is provided by your Web browser). This information
is compiled and used to analyze traffic. None of this information would allow
the National Guard to identify you personally, and this information
will not be shared with any third party
or affiliated organization.
B. Personal information you choose to share with us
The purpose of this site is to promote the YOU CAN School Program among students
and educators. We hope that you will contact us so that a representative
can come to your school.
However, any situation in which a user is asked to share information
with us raises privacy concerns. Our "Send Feedback" and
"Get the Program" forms ask you for your name, email
address, city, state, ZIP code, the school with which you are
affiliated,
and any comments you have about the YOU CAN School Program or this
website. If you choose to send us this information, it will go
directly
to
your
local Army National Guard representative who will contact you about
bringing the YOU CAN School Program to your school.
This information is NOT centrally recorded on this site. Your
local Army National Guard representative will not share this information
with any third party or
affiliated organization outside the National Guard. If you choose to send us
your email address, your local representative will send you an
email
with
more information
about the
program. However, you will not be added to any mailing list without
your permission.
2. What organization is collecting the information?
This site is maintained by the National Guard Bureau. Any information you
send to us is collected by either the Army National Guard of your state or
territory, or else the National Guard Bureau.
3. How is this information used?
Any personal information you send to us is used to send you additional information
about the benefits of the YOU CAN School Program for your school. The National
Guard does not share your information with any third party, and your information
will not be used for any different marketing purpose.
4. With whom may this information be shared?
Your local Army National Guard representative will not share your personal
information with any third party or affiliated organization outside the National
Guard.
5. What choices are available to you regarding
the collection of information?
We can only receive your personal information if you put it in a form and
click "submit." If you would prefer not to share this information
with us, please do not submit a form.
6. How can you access and correct any inaccuracies
in the information?
Since your personal information is not centrally stored, you cannot directly
access it through this site. However, since your local Army National Guard
representative will contact you, you can ask him or her to correct any inaccuracies.
7. What security procedures are in place to
protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of information?
Since your personal information is not centrally stored, the security protecting
your information depends on your local Army National Guard representative.
You can ask him or her what security measures are protecting your personal
information.
